Greetings: My grandparents Frank and Cecelia Ziegler left Odessa Russia in 1902. They settled briefly in Rugby, North Dakota, then moved to Tramping Lake, Saskatchewan in 1906. This is located in an area known as "St. Joseph's Colony" and the area was primarily made up of German immigrants. Many of the towns bear German names - Handle, Lepizig, Landis etc. We believe our ancestors left Germany and settled in Russia at the time of Catherine the Great. After several centuries in the Black Sea area, our grandparents joined with many countrymen who left of Canada and the USA. I would be pleased to hear further from you.
