ZIEGLER, Norma Francis On June 18th, 2000 Mrs. Norma Ziegler (Ditchfield) of Nipigon, Ont. passed away at the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital at the age of 74 years. Born at Hydro (Cameron Falls), Ont. living there most of her life till joining the Canadian Womens Army Corps. She then finished her education in Fort William returning to Cameron Falls to work for Ontario Hydro until she married Oliver Ziegler in November 1946 at Cameron Falls, Ont. Norma loved fishing and won many prizes in derbies, especially in the Nipigon Fall Fishing Derby. Norma was a dog breeder and her show dogs won championships in Canada and in the U.S.A. She is survived by, sons Jim (Pauline) of Terrace Bay, Ont., Barry of Burlington, Ont., two grandchildren Angela (Dave) Mummery of Prince George, B.C., Cory (Rae-Ann) of Thunder Bay, and five great grandchildren; Sheldon and Landon Mummery, Caley, Alysha, and Brandon Ziegler. By three brothers Vernon (Lois) of Thunder Bay, Ralph (Margaret) of Thunder Bay, Donald (Diane) Ottawa, Ont., four sisters Kathlyne (Larry) MacTavish of Thunder Bay, Ont., Betty White of The Pas, Man. Barbara (Roy) Wilson, of Port Egin, Ont. Susan (Doug) Johnson of Toronto, Ont., sisters-in-law, Madeleine Ditchfield of North Bay, Ont. and Joan Ditchfield of Edmonton, Alb. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her husband Oliver in 1999, son Gordon in 1990; father John James in 1962, mother Charlotte Eva in 1982, brothers Kenneth in 1932, Reginald in 1994, Edward in 1990, sisters Helen Ditchfield in 1925, Gladys Gordon in 1997, Evelyne Cook (1983), brothers-in-law Dave Gordon (1980), Lorne (Red) White (1988), Ernest Cook (1992). As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be at a later date. I
