Anne Ziegler of Barrington
A memorial service for Anne Ziegler (nee Edwards), 83, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 26, at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 647 S. Dundee Ave., Barrington, IL 60010. The Rev. Alvin C. Johnson will officiate. Private inurnment will be in St. Michael's Columbarium. Born Jan. 9, 1923, in Elizabeth, N.J., Mrs. Ziegler passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Ziegler married her high school sweetheart, Royden in 1944, and they were married for 50 wonderful years until his death in 1994. Mrs. Ziegler moved to Barrington in 1953, where she raised her five children and became an active member of the community. She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, the Fox Valley Herb Society, Infant Welfare and was a driver for Barrington F.I.S.H. Mrs. Ziegler had a distinguished 35-year career at Baird and Warner Real Estate, where she made a great many lifelong friends with both co-workers and customers. She had a passion for gardening, reading, her friends, bridge and above all for her children and grandchildren. Anne leaves a legacy of kindness and thoughtfulness that will be remembered forever. Survivors include her loving companion of 10 years, Kel Potter; children, Tom (fiance Kim Kincaid) Ziegler, Kathy (John) Haas, Libby (Todd) Rieke and Marty (Joe) Kampmeier; grandchildren, John (Carina) Haas, Melissa (Greg) Albright, Beth and Stephanie Rieke, T.J. Nelligan and Abbey Kampmeier; and four wonderful great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ziegler was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne Ziegler; grandchildren, Laura Kampmeier and Michael Nelligan; her parents, Thomas Page and Annette (nee Hooper) Edwards; and brother Thomas Edwards. Please omit flowers. Memorials in Mrs. Ziegler's name may be made to St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Arrangements were made by Davenport Family Funeral Home, Barrington, 847-381-3411.
