Elsie Watzlawick Ziegler formerly of Hampshire
The funeral service for Elsie Watzlawick Ziegler, 47, of Carol Stream, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park in Elgin. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Born Oct. 16, 1958, in Elgin, the daughter of John and Rosaline Claire (nee Cawood) Watzlawick, she passed away Sunday, June 18, 2006, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She was a 1976 graduate of Hampshire High School and attended Elgin Community College. She received her associates degree from the Copley School of Nursing in Aurora and her bachelors degree from Alverno College in Milwaukee. Elsie had been employed at St. Joseph and Sherman Hospitals in Elgin, St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, and at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park. She had recently been employed with Verizon Wireless in Elgin. She was a member of the Hampshire VFW Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband, Robert J. "Bob" Ziegler, whom she married June 26, 2004, in East Dundee; her father, John Watzlawick of Hampshire; four brothers, Jim (Vicky) Watzlawick of Algonquin, Joe Watzlawick of Hampshire, Jerald (Michelle) Watzlawick of Bement, Ill. and John (Kay) Watzlawick of Missouri; a sister, Jody Watzlawick of Aurora; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Lynn Munson of California. Elsie was preceded in death by her mother in 1997. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be directed to TAC House, Attn: Mary or Ron, 421 Constitution Dr., Aurora, IL 60506.
