Hello All.....If you are a descendat of Michael "the immigrant" Ziegler you can view the original homestead land at Skippack Pa. as well as Zieglerville Pa. which is a few miles up the highway.
Go to GOOGLE EARTH and type in Zieglerville Pa. or Skippack Pa. You can then zoom in to about 2000 ft above with good clarity.
The original land purchased by Michael at Skippack is located on the North side of Skippack Pike between RT. 113 (Bridge Rd.) and Cressman Rd. He also owned land on the Southside.
At 40 degrees 13 min., 53.81 seconds N and 75 degrees 24 min., 36.12 seconds west at the coerner of Skippack Pike and Cressman Rd you can see the school house and just across Cressman on the opposite corner is the Tannery built by Michael Jr. in 1747.
I hope this info gives you a bit of a sense of where we began our lives in the America's and encourages you to do more research.
I highly recomend looking up the Skippack Historical Society
for more info and pictures of the tannery and school house.
