I am searching for any living descendants of Thomas H Ziegler. Thomas was born in Pennsylvania about 1876. His parents moved to Clinton County Iowa where he graduated from Lyons high school in 1894. Thomas then graduated from Grinnell College in Grinnell Iowa.
Thomas H. Ziegler was a school teacher and principal for most of his life. He did some Post-Graduate work at the University of Chicago and the University of Cincinnati. He was a Principal at Riverside High School in Riverside Illinois and at Cornell High School perhaps Iowa. Thomas taught at Lockland High School and Hughes High School before transferring to Withrow High School of Cincinnati where he remained until retiring in 1945.
Thomas H Ziegler married a Norwegian woman from Iowa named Ellen N. around 1907. He had 1 daughter named Mary Beth (born about 1914) who married a Dr. Kale and lived in Seattle. He had a son named Robert N. (1909-1964) who was the county prosecutor for Cincinnati Ohio and was found dead in a car with a gun in his lap in 1964 (sounds fishy to me…perhaps a revenge crime against someone he prosecuted). He had a son named John H. (born about 1915), who may have been a Naval Officer stationed in Honolulu Hawaii around 1950. He also had a son named James who died at a young age, and at the time of Thomas’ death in 1950, he had 5 grandchildren.
Anyway, I am looking for any living descendants of this family. William and Thomas Ziegler were the only children out of 5 to have families of their own. My family and the descendants of Thomas are all that remain of the descendants of Jacob Landis Ziegler (1839 Lower Salford, Montgomery County, PA – 1904 Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa) and Elizabeth Drake Sands (1842 Berks County, PA– 1923 Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa).
If you have any info or can point me in the right direction regarding this family, I would appreciate it.
