Harvel "Dexter" Williams
SHREVEPORT, LA Celebration of life services will be held Friday, September 25th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Kings Highway Christian Church, 806 Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Senior Minister David Brice. The family request casual dress at the service.
Dexter was born June 9, 1953 in Hornbeck, LA and passed away September 20, 2009. He resided in Shreveport, LA but called Woodville, TX home. Dexter was a commercial pilot for Summit Helicopters. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Ann Williams and a daughter Skylar Allison Marie Williams; two brothers, Randolph Williams of Houma, LA and Ralph "Bubba" Edward Williams of Beaumont, TX; a sister Bonnie Brochhausen of Hornbeck, LA; half brothers, Denny Averitt and Lenny Averitt; a half sister, Cheryl Averitt; and many nieces and nephews.
Dexter loved to fly and held single and multi engine and a helicopter ratings. He was an aerial applicator with numerous companies across America however more important, were the lifelong friendships that were made throughout his career and travels. Dexter loved his work but loved his family most of all.
In lieu in flowers memorials may be made to the Chi Rho youth group at Kings Highway Christian Church.
