Would like more information on Catherine Whitsel and her possible relationship to WILLARD in Wythe Co VA.
About Catherine Whitsel...In the 1850 census record, marital status and relationships are not stated. Catherine, age 43, is head of the household and Mary Whitsel, age 13 would appear to be a daughter. Hetty Freeman, a woman near Catherine's own age, who could be a widowed sister is living there with children. Since Catherine Whitsel is listed as a grandmother of Charles Foy Willard, in the 1880 census..this leads me to believe she is the mother (perhaps remarried) of Mary Ball, wife of Allen J Willard?
