Willard, postmaster and dealer in dry goods and general merchandise at Folsomdale, NY, was born in Bennington, Wyoming Co.,NY, in 1833, in the first frame house erected (by his father) in Folsomdale,NY, in which village he has since resided, except during six or seven years spent in Erie and Cattaraugus Co.,NY. He was married in 1855 to NANCY NEWKIRK, and in 1869 to JULIA MOORE, of Cattaraugus Co.,NY. R.M. Willard, father of Samuel A. Willard, was born in Boston,MA, in 1806, and came to Folsomdale, NY, in 1831 where he worked at his trade, that of carpenter and joiner. He spent a number of years in Indiana, Michigan, and Missouri, and returned to Folsomdale, NY, in 1879. He was married in 1832 to JULIA OLGER, and in 1826 to SOPHRONIA BERRY. ------------------------------------------ I am not researching this family. I have no further information to provide.
