I've now traced the birth certificate of Arthur Henry Whiting but it seems his mother wasn't married. I haven't been able to track her any further back. Although Arthur was born close to Canterbury, his mother could have been born anywhere. Very frustrating! Have you been in touch with David Powell? He has all the Whitings from Dover traced back to 1550. Sadly for me, my Arthur is not a member of that branch of the Whitings! Hilary Notify Administrator about this message?
