Marian,
Yes and No --- It has been very difficult to trace my Wehrer Family Line. Let me try to explain a few things. I go back to William (Wilhelm) F. Wehrer born 1848 Wurttemberg Germany --- he married Caroline Marie Hoffman in approximately 1879. He came to the USA in 1869 with two or three other Wehrer brothers and they settled in the West. It is believed that it was Cheyenne, Wyoming --- they started a carpentry/brick laying company. Three of the older children of this union were born in Cheyenne, Laramie County, Wyoming (their names were Emma Anna Caroline, William Charles, and Charles Albert) Somehow there was a falling out among the brothers and Wilhelm (William) and his family began moving East. During their move east another child was born in Nebraska (but I don't know where in Nebraska). Her name was Lillian Rose Wehrer. They continued to move East evetually coming to reside in Southwestern Pennsylvania. This was just outside of the City of Pittsburgh. The area that they settled in at that time was called Bellwood, Mifflin Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. It is now called West Mifflin, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. They had two more children after they arrived here. My Grandmother, Caroline Marie (Carrie they called her as a nickname) Wehrer and then Edward Peter Wehrer. In my research I have discovered many Wehrer's scattered in Nebraska, Colorado and other western states. We think that some of these Wehrer's may be the descendents of Wilhelm (William) F. Wehrer's brothers. If this story sounds familiar or sounds like there might be a connection, please e-mail me asap.
Anxiously awaiting a response,
Joy An Wilkinson-Johnson
