I am so glad to find folks have not given up on John Washburn of Culpeper. Supposedly his son Reuben is the father of my ancestor grandfather James Washburn born 1800 in Georgia. He is listed by some as the youngest and by some he isn't listed at all.
I was told Reuben had daughters that weren't listed in any genealogies but one person gave me the names and they were the same names my James named his daughters. My James is associated with the Samuel W. who was in Texas and Benton Co. Arkansas. Nobody has said for sure they were brothers but everyone assumes it. Since James isn't listed on some folks trees I wonder if he could have been taken in by the family.
My James was in Jefferson Co. Missouri in 1810 according to his son Williams bio. Does anyone have proof Reuben was there at that time? All I have is Reuben went from Georgia to Kentucky.
Any help proving my James was the son of Reuben would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Colleen Rowe
