John Thornborough b c1809 Scotland

Looking for any information on the parents, siblings etc. of John Thornborough whose Royal Marines record states he was born 1809/1810 Dumfries, Scotland. He married Jane Hamilton (1815-1860) in 1834 at Stoke Dameral, Devonshire, England. He can be found on the 1861 census of Plymouth, Devonshire listed as a retired Greenwich Pensioner. I have his Royal Marine records from the Service Continuation Books. He disappears after 1861, but a son married in London in 1876 does not list him as deceased. He does not appear on the 1881 British census. Appreciate any assistance. Glenys
