From a book called " A discourse on The Thornburgh Family" by Charles C. Thornburg III I have several tid-bits of information on Thomas And Alice Lane Thornborough.
This is one such article.
Thomas Thornberry (Thornburgh), son of Nicolas and Isabell Sakeld Thornburgh was b. 1596 in Lancashire England.
Thomas emigrated to Elizabeth City VA. in the Ship George, in 1616. Thomas died i North Cumberland Co. Va. in 1653 (another source said 1661)
Thomas married Alice Lane daughter of Capt. Ralph Lane. She came to America in 1620 and was b. in London in 1594.
Ssome of their children were:
ROWLAND, Samuel and probably William and Elizabeth (and probably more)
This information does not give the documentation so I cannot say for sure itis 100% correct. it does, however, give you some food for thought.
I allegedly descend fromThis Thomas and Alice Lane Thornburg down thru the following lineage.
ROWLAND son of Thomas and Alice Lane Thornburg. Rowland m. Ann Living.to:
ROWLAND (son of Rowland and Ann Living)and Marcy Baylis to:
FRANCIS [son of Rowland & Marcy Baylis thornburg] who married Mary ? to:
THOMAS [son of Francis and Mary? Thornburg) who married Sarah Vanmeter Shepherd to:
Azariah (son of Thomas and Sarah Shepherd Thornburg) who married Drusilla Swearingen Morgan to:
Thomas (son of Azariah and Drusilla) who married Elizabeth Perrill .
Thomas and Elizabeth Perrill migrated from Berkley Co. Va (Now WVA) to Bath Co. KY as did Drusilla. The swearingens had lots of land in KY thus the migration to Bath, Clark, Fleming and various counties.
Hope this helps some. The lineage from Thomas and Alice Lane is also the linege of the former Attorney General Richard "Dick" Thornburg.
His descendant was a brother to my Azariah.
