Summers from MD to: KY, NC, TN

Hello All,

I am a descendant of immigrant John Summers d. 1705 Prince George's Co, MD m. Rebecca [Dent]*. My branch moved into (W)VA while some of the same group moved southward to KY, NC, SC, TN (and some of those on to AL, GA, and TX etc).

I have completed quite a bit of research on the AL, MD, SC, TX, and (W)VA groups (including some who moved westward from there).

Now, I want to concentrate on those who moved into KY, NC, and TN and am asking those researchers to contact me who are willing to share info and combine our efforts.

You can see my online gedcom at the link below (excludes the living). I have additional info including from "The First Three Generations of John Summers of Prince George's County, Maryland" which I have not yet incorporated into my gedcom. I have other research documentation, some of which is referenced in my gedcom.

I believe in sharing data, otherwise, what is the point? I have been fortunate to connect with many fellow researchers who think likewise, including kin I would have never known about had we not connected. Our collaboration has been a real joy.

Before I started researching my Summers line, I literally could have counted those I knew about on my one hand which included my grandmother (paternal). Since beginning this quest, I have learned our Summers and related kin were/are an industrious lot, adventurous, and yes, prolific! As well, our folk have been in the thick of American life & history beginning when immigrant John Summers first landed on the Maryland shores in 1671.

So, I am hoping to soon connect with more kinfolk and related families while we compile an even larger history of our interesting and unique families.

* [Rebecca Dent]: the conventional info is that her maiden name was Dent. However, I have yet to find the source of this thinking and am hoping one of you can offer insights.
