Marjorie,

I am still attempting to locate the source for the Mt. Tabor burial of Elizabeth Summers. In doing so, I came across the following sites on the internet that do not answer the question but provide a wealth of interesting information. In case you have not seen these I am forwarding them to you.

The first is a filing with the U.S. Department of the Interior/National Park Service, National Register of Historic Places -- Registration Form

Sugar Loaf Farm

http://www.dhr.virginia.gov/registers/Counties/Augusta/007-0032_Sugar_Loaf_Farm_1991_Final_Nomination.pdf

It provides very interesting information about John SUMMERS (the younger) and his son David SUMMERS.

The second wa a text history of Augusta Co., which does not mention the SUMMERS family per se but states that “Mt. Tabor Church was founded about 1785”, which might explain why Elizabeth’s burial is not included in the published records.

Full text of "History of Augusta County, Virginia" at:

http://www.archive.org/stream/historyofaugusta00peytuoft/historyofaugusta00peytuoft_djvu.txt

Meanwhile, I will keep looking.
