The Pennington Research Assn. (PRA) has now recognized Wells Pennington and his descendents as a Pennington Group. Wells, born 1781 in Ashe Co., NC married Elizabeth Strunk and moved to Whitley Co., KY (now McCreary) about 1817 with their four known children: Theophilus, Arad, Christina (who married Samuel Garland) and Tabitha. Around 1824-25 Wells and several others were involved in a manslaughter trial in Whitley Co. because of the death of Pleasant Johnson. He moved his family to Pulaski/Wayne Counties in Kentucky in 1828. Would like to hear from anyone associated with this family.
