Dennis:
For point of reference my great great grandmother was Orpha F. Stanard, married to Josiah Hinman Bonney. I have a pedigree chart completed by my aunts many years ago from DAR records, and county records which show that William Stannard [Stanard] was born in Killingsworth, Middlesex County, Conn. in 1740 and died in Newport, N.H. in 1820. He was the grandson of William Stannard the immigrant, who came from England in the first settling of America. They settled in Conn. William (2)came to New Hampshire when a young man and settled in Newport. William Stannard (3) was his only son.
I have some personal history on William Stannard, as he was quite involved in the Revolutionary war and served from April 1776 through the end of the war in December 1780. However, I show William marrying a Mindwell Buell on September 19,1770, and her sister, Margery 10 years later after Mindwell's death. Children of these unions are: Sally, William, Mindwell, Jeremiah and Abigail. Is this similar to your information? I have a great deal of data on the family on this pedigree chart but most of it is unconfirmed, except the reference to DAR records.

Please let me know if this agrees with any of your information.
