Willam Stanard's date of birth is unknown at this point. He died around 1709 in Middlesex County. I have not been able to find the immigration records or ship records. Several references state that he was from England. His marriage to Eltonhead (Henry Thacker's widow) Stanard placed him in a rather high social position within the county. He served on the vestry, was surveyor or roads, etc.

His son (William Stanard) and his grandson, Beverlyey Stanard achieved prominence in the county prior to the family moving to Roxbury, Spotsylvania county. I am the ninth Stanard generation and my children the tenth, in line from the immigrant William Stanard. The Stanards were First Family of Virginia and married into many other leading families of the day including Carter, Beverly, Chew, Taylor, Taliferro, etc. Have done extensive research on my line and if you have specific question perhaps I can assist.
