I've just married into the Stanard family and my husband mentioned that his ancestors came from Stanardsville - we'd be really interested to find out more about William Stanard! I'm currently reading the book "Letters of a New Market Cadet" which is about Beverly Stanard (b. April 27 1845) and apparently he is also related to this Stanard branch. I'm sure you've heard of it but if you don't know the book I can let you have details.
