With the news out that Barak Obama is descended from Martha Eltonhead, I have notified my family members that they too share that heritage. (Some are tickled and others are aghast.) I believe that the Wm. & Mary Quarterly gives the information that William Stanard did indeed marry Martha Eltonhead Conway's daughter Eltonhead Conway (Thacker) as 2nd husband. Do you have a good source to verify that a daughter Sarah married Bartholomew Yates? We are from their son William Yates & Elizabeth Randolph. Thanks for any documentation. One episode I have a note about is that Henry Thacker Jr. sued William Stanard "who had married the widow Eltonhead, and had the estate of their deceased father in his hands, and had left the county." (Middlesex County Records.) Where did he go?
