Hi Sara, I passed your posting along to Nancee, she is the one researching the Smith surname. I have a gg grandmother who was a Smith from Pennsylvania, maybe even Beaver County but do not know for sure really. Have not even got close to the Smith surname as far as research. Will save it for maybe ten years down the road. I don't know a whole lot about my husband's side, the Stanley's. Started on them within the last six months and they have been a tough line to crack. We have a Clabe Stanley, or Henry Clabe Stanley that was supposedly born in Scott County, Virginia. He married a Stengill. Clabe's son Clarence was born in Kentucky, along with his brothers, Manley Warren Stanley and Allen R. Stanley. Their mother was a Handley. So I am in the early stages of trying to find anything on them. Clabe did have a brother named Flenn or Fleming, not sure of the name, cant find much on him either. Think he married a Bench. North Carolina, if the Stanley's were ever there I don't know about it yet. Did your Stanley's stay in North Carolina pretty much or you dont know? Ok, looking at your posting some did come out to Iowa. Have you looked around the Lucas web site? http://www.rootsweb.com/~ialucas/Main.htm You know I had a McGlothen contact me just yesterday, trying to think was surname he was connected to in Lucas County, Iowa. Just looked, it was a posting on Isaac Cain, and his name is Don McGlothen, any connection? Deborah Notify Administrator about this message?
