Hello,
My knowledge is rather pathetic. My grandfather's name was Peter Schmitt and he lived in Waterloo, IL. Unfortunately, the older members of the family don't have a lot of interest in where they came from; plus, the men seem to die early (I never knew my grandfather, my dad never knew his grandfather). The only thing I do know is that my grandfather's brother moved to California, while another brother stayed in Waterloo. This is the beginning of my investigation; any information would be helpful. Thanks.
