My great grandmother was SOPHIA SCHMITT born 1850 from alsace. Her father was CHRISTIAN SCHMITT born abt. 1810 and his wife was MARGARETHA MUENSCH. Sophia emig. 1869 to Chicago and married Andreas Welsch they had 8 children.
