I am looking for info on Sebastian Schmitt (my gggfather). Born in 1861 in I believe Grosswenkheim Unterfranken Bayern (Germany). It's possible he could be from Mecklenberg Germany. His first wife died at sea on the way to the US and he remarried by the time he got to the US. Second wife is Fredricka - don't know who the first wife is.
Trying to find the town he came from and ancestors of his (parents etc), and the ship he was on
He settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and had 4 children - Albert, John, Lena and Helen.
Any info greatly appreciated.
