I am looking for any help on the Smith/Schmidt/Schmitt names. My great-great grandfather's name was Valentine Smith/Schmidt/Schmitt b: abto 1806 in Germany. He was married to a Christina Goebiet/Goeblet. Some their children were born in German (Tuli, Katerina, Lisa, Philo). Some were born in Canada (John, maybe Mary, Elizabeth, Marg and Daryl). Others were born in the Michigan area (Sue Aubry, George C. & Carl). Valentine died in 1886 and his wife died in 1894.
