Bernita B. (Kutzley) Schmidt Obit
MORENCI — Bernita Schmidt, 90, of North Summit Street, Morenci, passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Heartland of Wauseon in Wauseon, Ohio.
She was born Feb. 2, 1917, in Seneca Township, to Walter and Caroline D. (Burkholder) Kutzley. She married Edwin H. Schmidt on Aug. 21, 1936, in Angola, Ind. He preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1969.
Bernita was a homemaker and farmer’s wife. She worked at the Morenci Rubber Plant for 15 years and was a member of the Munson United Brethren Church.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Schmidt and Albert (JoAnn) Schmidt, both of Morenci; daughter-in-law, Grace Schmidt of Morenci; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Davis of Morenci; and a brother, Victor Kutzley of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Besides her husband, Edwin, Bernita was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Edwin “Junior” Schmidt; a sister, Irene Figgins; and a brother, Howard Kutzley.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci with the Rev. Paul Webster officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. There will be a visitation on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Munson United Brethren Church.
