I am looking for parents/siblings of my ggg grandfather Friedrich Schmidt b 31 May 1823 of Darmstadt, Hesse, died 12 October 1885 Antonia, Jefferson, Missouri. He married Elisabetha Wilhelmina Tisius b 26 January 1831 of Hannover, d 3 July 1900 Antonia, Jefferson, Missouri. They were married on 26 December 1848 at St. Peter's German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dorsey, Madison, Illinois. They have the following children: Matilda b abt 1853, Katharina b 26 Feb 1856, Louis b 19 Dec 1857, F. Henry b 7 Sep 1860, Minna b abt 1862, Louisa b abt 1864, Emma b Mar 1865, Elisabeth b 1868, William b 1869; all children born in Illinois. Daughter, Katharina is my gg grandmother, I have her baptismal certificate which is in German, so I have correct names and dates for her. I found the cemetery and headstones of Friedrich Schmidt and Elisabetha Tisius, this is where I got their birth and death dates from. I have found the Schmidt and Tisius name in Madison County Illinois (Tisius name also in Wisconsin) but have not been able to link Friedrich or Elisabetha to them. Would appreiciate and suggestions or help. Thank you.
