Soldier died June 1801 and his wife Mary died 14 March 1840 leaving only 1 child, towit, Jane (Smith) Price who applied 7 July 1848 aged 55 and stated her father had been previously married to "Catharine Tatesman" or Gatesman, and that she, Jane Price had a step-brother, Jacob Smith and a step-sister Catharine Smith. Widow's son-in-law Benjamin Price was referred to in March 1840. Soldier 1st wife died about 1790 to 93 Henry, PA Line, 4 June 1760 in Northampton Co., PA the part that became Lehigh Co and he lived there at enlistment, a resident of Lowhill township. Leonard wife Ann, PA Line, born in 1755 Northampton Co., PA and lived there at 1st enlistment then moved to Westmoreland Co. PA Peter, PA Line, applied 1818 NJ where he had lived for some 20 or 30 years. In 1820 he was a resident of Northampton Co.,PA. where he was living with one of his sons and at this time he stated he had six living children, four sons and 2 daughters of which the youngest was a daughter, aged 18, no names given Smith, Foster I. D.D.S., a native of Northampton County born 2 May 1861, s/o Irvin Smith, who for many years was a well known merchant of Northumberland and Snyder Counties. He died in Middleberg, Snyder Co. in 1877. His wife Fannie Leimbach, d/o John. In their family were 4 children; L. H., a physcian of Hazelton. We now take up the personal history of Dr. Foster Smith, he married 28 Nov 1883, in Great Bend, PA to Libbie "Duttweiler, d/o Martin. Smith, James of Easton, was born in County Meath, Ireland, in 1829, s/o Patrick and Ann (Carpenter) Smith. Member of the R.C. Church In 1858 he married Mary Sheeran, and they had 7 children. Smith, John, a native of Northampton. His father,Jonathan was born in Lehigh County, being the son of Peter Smith, who bought his family to this county when his son was a small boy. He settled in East Allen township. Our subject's mother,Margaret (Fennel) Smith, was born in Northampton Co. John was born June 10, 1837, on Jan 10,1860 he married Sarah S., d/o David Biel, and to them were born 7 children, 4 of whom are living; Laura, Ellen, William H., and Ida R. Smith, Jonathan E. (Rev) his birth having occured in Weisenburg township, Lehigh County, April 4, 1850. In that county his parents, Elias and Saloma (Snyder) Smith, were also born. Rev. Mr. Smith, on May 12, 1886, married Maria C., d/o George and Amanda E. Bartholomew of Bath. She died Jan 16, 1890 Smith, William M., was a native of Germany, born Oct 1837, s/o William M., and Catharine Smith, both natives Germany.
