Schleicher County, Texas (site of El Dorado and not much more) is named after Gustave Schleicher, who is supposed to be some relation to my family like cousin to my grandfather Arthur Richard or the like. I believe Gustave served in the Texas Senate, and ran off or was run off to Mexico with some other Germans for supporting the Union side in the Civil War. I would enjoy hearing from anyone who can firm lineage to him. Thank you.
