My name is Jesus Saldaņa, just like everybody else, am interested in my history. The research that I have done so far has revealed that, my GG Grandfather was Ramon Saldaņa from the central part of the state of Tamaulipas in Mexico, probably born in the late 1800's.
He was married to Felicitas Garcia, they had several children among them were Antonio, Vivian, Paulita, Victoria, Felicitas, Adan, Maria who married a gentleman from Spain or spanish descent; my aunt Luz affectionatetly called "un gachupin" from Brownsville, TX., and my G Greatgrandfather Ramon Saldaņa. He married Juanita Iglesias (I'm guessing in the early 1900's and they had Bruno, Luz, Antonio, Benito, Mela, Lalo, Juanita, Maria Irene, and a pair of twins Jose and Jesus; the latter being my grandfather. He was from the Matamoros area of the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico. Many of his siblings moved to Texas and northern states. WA, NC, to mention a few. My Grandfather died in 1984 and the last surviving sibling is Luz who is 95 years young. I live on the Texas and Mexico border and all of my info is from word of mouth from relatives. I hope this may help somebody and feel free to drop a line if you have any info that will help me.
