My grandfather was Faustino "Tino" Saldana. He told me his father (name unknown to me)was from Guanajuato, Mexico he fled Mexico after shooting two of Pancho's men who had come to recruit him forcibly during the mexican revolution and he worked the railroad in the US. Grandpa said they first settled near El Paso, Texas but that they travelled all over the southwest with railroad work and eventually settled in Watts or "La Colonia" Los Angeles, California during the depression. Grandpa said he had ten siblings and consisting of nine brothers and one sister (Rita). Some of their names were :Trinidad, Jess, Don and David. Don and David were twins and the youngest and are the only ones still alive. They travelled up and down the California central valley picking crops. With eleven siblings this family has to be huge by now...if any of this sounds familiar please contact me I am writing a book for my son and all of our sons and daughters and their children so they will know something of bearing the great name of Saldana!!
