My Grandfather was Arturo Ignacio Saldaņa and served during the early 20's thru 45' in the Mexican Army. From what I'm told through my uncles and aunts that have survived; he held the title of colonel - he was some type of accountant. He married my grandmother who was from a small town outside of Mexico City call Cadareyta in the state of Mexico. He of course was light-skinned w/hazle colored eyes; she was a stout dark skinned ethnic looking woman. Anyways; they lived throughout the Mexican Republic and parts of the American Southwest Unfortunately he died sometime in 1947, a couple of years after my father Jorge Arturo Saldana, who was born in Durango-Durango but raised in Mxco City. They had a total of 11 children between them: Ignacio Saldana (Chicho - now deceased); Nellie Saldana (living - Chgo. IL); Victor Saldana (living - Mxco City); Napolito Saldana (living - Scottsdale, AZ); Irma Saldana (living - Mxco City); Irene Saldana (living - Chgo, IL); Aida Saldana (living - Chgo, IL); Alberto Saldana (living - Mxco City); Jorge A Saldana(living - El Paso, TX) and finally Mario Saldana (living - Mxco City); I would like to know if anyone out in Saldana-ville/world has a relative that possibly might be related to my grandfather.
