This family has Judeo-Christian origins in northern Spain(Palencia Province)situated between Leon and Burgos. The Saldana Family Escudo(heraldic crest) is composed of the following elements: the coat of arms has a green(vert)background.In the center is a silver-toned castle tower.Under the tower is a gold-colored crossbow (ballesta).Over the castle is depicted a knight's helmet with three white ostrich feathers.
Interpretation of coat of arms :
1. VERT = hope,joy, love
2. Castle Tower = safety and security
3. Crossbow = readiness for battle
4. Helmet w/ostrich feathers = willing obedience and serenity
El escudo de la familia : un trasfondo verde.En la parte central del blason: una torre de un castillo (color de plata) . Bajo la torre, una ballesta dorada. Sobre la torre , un casco de guerra con tres plumas de avestruz.
Simbolismo y interpretacion : El color verde = esperanza,gozo,amor
La torre del castillo: seguridad y bienestar
La ballesta = disposicion para la batalla
El casco con plumas = obediencia voluntaria y sentido de serenidad
