Since alot of the Rugh(Ruch),Steck etc...researchers are not in the Westmoreland Co., PA area, I figured I would post a message of great interest to all. Rev Michael John Steck ( son of Rev John Michael Steck)had kept journals while he was preaching. Last year, The local newspaper ran an article in which stated that the 1st Lutheran Church of Greensburg had found an old journal in an unused pulpit while cleaning. The journal belonged to Rev Michael JOhn Steck. Paul Miller Ruff translated the german script and published it in March of this year. I have bought the book and it was researched that there are a few records in the journal that were not recorded in the original church records. If you wish to have a look up done in the book, Please contact me at sandy@pastategenealogy.com

you can also visit the website www.pastategenealogy.com to view some records on the Steck and Rugh families as well as some other family records from different Lutheran churches in the Westmoreland County PA area. If you have anything to add to our records and have the proof.. then let us know. We will post any information on any families in Pennsylvania and their descendants in other states. No Living indivual information please.
