I have been updating the info that I have on the Ruch family of Pennsylvania and Ohio. In the History and Biographical Cyclopsedia of Butler County, Ohio p.659 it says that Ellen Simpson, daughter of John Warner and Rachel Ruch Warner, was born June 13, 1822. But on the census records it figures out that she was born in 1833. I think this is the correct date because Ellen's mother(Rachel Ruch) was born April 1, 1809. If Ellen was born in 1822 her mother would only have been 13 years old.

In other information I have that John Ruch died 14 September 1829 in York County, PA. I have the estate sale record and a number of the purchasers seem to be members of John and Catherine's family BUT on page 659 of the History and Biographical Cyclopaedia of Butler County, Ohio in the article about Robert MAGINETY, it states that he" married Lydia A Ruch 15 March 1846. Her father came here(Butler County)in 1841 from York County, PA and settled first in Preble County and subsequently two and a half miles east of Amanda, and died in a year after coming to this place" My question is could the JOHN RUCH that died in 1829 in York County, be the Father of John Ruch that was married to Catherine? I also found a will in Butler County, Ohio for a John RUCK, written in 1837 and filed in 1845. There is information on it that connects with Amanda in Butler County, Ohio, but the children listed on the will do not agree with the children that I have for John and Catherine.

And in other new info I have found the marriage record for Henry Ruch and Sarah McWilliams and the baptismal record for their son John William Ruch. Henry is one of the children I have found for John and Catherine.

I would like to work with you on this family. Carolyn
