"The Dictionnaire National des Canadiens Francais (1608-1760)Tome II," pg. 1177, lists the parents of Marie Langelier (or L'Angelier) as Sebastian Langelier and Marie De Beuregard. The "Dictionnaire Genealogique des familes du Quebec des origines a 1730," by Rene Jette, 1983, gives the marriage date of 1670 for Vivian and Marie, says that the origins of Marie are unknown, and gives her age as 30 years in the 1681 census of New France. (This would mean she was born in about 1651.) The "Dictionnaire Genealogique ..." lists the family of Sebastian Langelier and Marie (de) Beauregard on page 644. Their marriage took place in 1655. Four children are listed for this couple, the earliest born in 1670. Marie Langelier is not on this list. The various census dates for Sebastian Langelier place his birth at 1617 and place Marie De Beuregard's birth at 1645-1650. This means that the Marie Langelier who married Vivian Rocheleau could not be the daughter of Sebastian and Marie. Can anyone help me resolve this conflict of dates? On many Internet genealogy sites I see Sebastian Langelier and Marie de Beauregard listed as the parents of the Marie Langelier who married Vivien Rocheleau. The "Dictionnaire Genealogique ..." information would seem to make this connection impossible. Alice Hendry Notify Administrator about this message?
