I did locate his mother living with Robert F. Reid in the 1900 Census in 1900:

Frank Reid, age 37, born Dec 1862 in PA. He is employed as a Carpenter. His wife Anna (Mitcheltree) Reid, age 37, born Oct 1862 in PA is Keeping House. They have been married 15 years and she born 7 children with only three living at this time. Their children in the home are: Ella B., age 8, born Aug 1891 in PA; Grace, age 6, born Jan 1894, and Jeanette, age 10 months, born Jul 1899 in PA.
Also living in the home is his mother, *Elizabeth A. (nee ?) Reid., age 70, born May 1830, and a Widow. Said she born 1 child and 1 was living.
