Mary L. Ford was the daughter of Joseph Ford and Susan Williamson Ford. Joseph died in the Civil War in 1863 and Susan then married Archibald Shaw. Mary continued to live with her mother and stepfather. Mary had two sons, but she was apparently not married to either of their fathers. One of these sons, William Abner Livingston, was my grandfather. Later she married Henry P. Shaw and had four more children.
I have not been able to find Mary in either the 1920 or 1930 census. I have been corresponding with a lady who is also a descendant of Mary Ford and she had some old photographs of some of Mary's children. These would be half brothers and sisters to my grandfather.
