Thanks I guess that if Mary's mother was Susan Shaw, then Mary's maiden name was Shaw? That's how it usually works, and in 1880 Mary Ford is found in Choctaw County MS as a widow at the tender age of 22 with two sons. Thirty years later in 1910 you find Mary living in East Kansas City Choctaw county MS with Henry P Reid and four more sons. How do you make out with the 1920 and 1930 censuses? If none of the family are found in 1920 and 1930 censuses perhaps you should ask a public library in East Kansas City if they can find an obituary after 1910. Normally they would request an exact date of death, but they may have an index of obituaries or a list of burials at cemeteries near East Kansas City. Chocktaw County Public Library is at PO Box 755, Louisville Street, Ackerman, MS 39735, tel. (662) 285-6348, email ackerman@tombigbee.lib.ms.us Best I can suggest.
