Gideon Rehrig 1829-1906 Civil War Service?

My Great-G-G-Grandfather Gideon has a marker on his grave for service in the Civil War. The Ben Salem Church says he served. Does anyone know or have evidence of his service? His wife was Susanna Moyer (or Meyer) and duaghter was Harriet. I am also looking for Susanna's parents. n1usd@attbi.com
