Hello. I am looking for the parents (and ancestors, hopefully) of Annie READ. Her middle name may have been Rue or Brie. She was born about 1850 and married to William Bond KNOWLES on the 16th of October 1872, according to on-line information. I have a ring which he may have given her. The inscription is faded but appears to read: "A.R.R from W.B.K. Sept. 4, 1872"
In the 1880 census Annie is widowed and living with William's parents, Levi and Elizabeth KNOWLES, in Philadelphia, PA. She appears to have had a daughter, Celia (Cecilia), born in 1874. I would also like to know more about her as I think she may have been the person who gave her mother's ring to my Grandmother Read's aunt, to whom she was said to be distantly related.
Annie Read's and William Knowles' relationship to the ring is all just speculation for now, so I am looking for connections and confirmations.
