Hi Mike,
Just to confirm what you have already realized, Bryan Quigley's daughter Anne married Patrick Guinan and not the relation you were seeking. Bryan's son Hugh (3 years old in the 1851 census to which you referred) was my g grandfather.
Bernie and I had been communicating in the past because I too had hoped to determine whether Bryan was one of the 11 brothers mentioned in his family's oral history. My line's known history only begins with Bryan, Margaret and dgt Julia/Judith coming to Canada around 1830. We are unsure where in Ireland they originated, and whether they emigrated with other Quigley relations or not.
And one extra frustration, while Bryan and Margaret's immediate descendents have been reasonably identified the fate of their son John is still a mystery. As a result whenever I get asked by another Quigley if we are related I usually have to say I really don't know.
There was a Bryan Quigley with a brother Hugh residing in Clonmany Ireland, and Hugh became a popular name with my branch of the family. But so far can only wonder if my Bryan and your Hugh/Ann were kin in Pickering.
