Hi Irene,
Here is a hyperlink to a village called Nowinka. Zoom in on this village and you should see two nearby villages appear called Stare Gatne and Nowe Gatne. One of these may be Roman’s ancestral home. The grid coordinates for Nowinka are latitude 5356 and longtitude 2259.

If this does not work, go to http://www.jewishgen.org/shtetlseeker/loctown.htm
In the “search for town” type in “Nowinka”, for the specific country choose Poland from the drop down box. Next click on “start the search”. Select the Nowinka with the coordinates 5356 2259 then zoom-in.
