Hi Debbie,

I was wondering how you were getting on and if you had any luck.

The Peter family from Padstow has been around there since 1600 - I am pretty sure your lot are probably related to them. The other alternative is they are related to the Launceston Peter's who married Billing from St Breward and also ventured south and also had sardine boats.

They may also be related to the "Hoblyn" Peter family from nearby Colquite - another large and old Cornish family that is supposed to connect to the "Launceston" family and thence back to Bohay in Exeter c1300
