Thank you John for the information, however, another researcher had already provided me with that material. I might add that Jonas Peter (b. Nov. 1, 1849) was the father of another child. The story: in the 1880 Census, Jonas Peter was listed as a farmer. Maria, his wife, died in May of that year. Also living in the house, at the time of the census, were: Elizabeth Peter at 71 years of age and a "housekeeper", as well as, Alavesta S. Bechtel at 15 years of age and a "servant". At the age of 13, Alavesta had a child - Jane Louise, born June 18, 1881. The father of Jane was Jonas Peter. Jane was raised by her maternal grand parents - Abraham and Elizabeth Jane Bechtel.
