My dad's dad was disowned from his family for, as far as i know, reason known only to him. He died a few years back, since then his wife died and things were found that led to my dad and his sister finding out they had a step sister who they met up with. it is thought that my grandads family were at a high position in society as at that time this would have been very important and so it is thought that he had a child before marriage (being my dad's step sister) and so he was chucked out the family. I am looking for more information on my family tree before my grandad to see who i am descended from. I do not know where to start looking so any help is great.
