Edward Edmund Peckham and Vera Violet Hodgson had three sons. The eldest, my father, was Edward Dale Peckham, also called Ed or Ted. He was born in Riverton on October 15, 1928, and moved to Casper, Wyoming, while in high school. He was later deployed to Korea with his National Guard unit from Casper, Wyoming. While stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, he married Florence Heller Carter (born in Canton, Ohio, March 8, 1920) in July of 1953, adopting her daughter, Sandra Jean Carter (born in Columbia, Missouri, March 25, 1947), from an earlier marriage. He and Florence had two additional daughters: Pamela Sue Peckham (born November 5, 1954) and Wendy J. Peckham (born October 5, 1956). Both of the two younger girls were born in Camp Hanford, Washington. Upon re-entry into civilian life, the family moved to Redlands, California, where Ted became certified as a teacher. They then settled in Pacific Grove, California, and Edward taught for the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District and Florence worked as a juvenile probation officer. Florence died January 20, 2005.
There are nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as of March, 2007.
