I did some research at the Putnam Museum in Cold Spring, NY about three years ago to see if there was a connection between "my" Parritt line and Robert Parker. Here is what I found:

Peter Pearse Parrott info was included in the file for Col. Robert Parker Parrott. From this one might conclude that they were related. A note in the file suggested that the researcher contact the Monroe, NY Public Library (Orange County). An ancestor:John M. Cates, Jr. worked at the UN in 1964. Apparently Mr. Cates had done some research on the family.

I live fifteen miles from Cold Spring and there is a Parrott Street, named for Col. Parrott. Also it is commonly known that Col. Parrott's family gave the land (where the house sat) to St. Mary's Episcopal church. It is located at the corner of Route 301 (Main St.) and Route 9D.

Hope this information is of some help.
