MANITOBA L'HEUREUX/LHEUREUX
There exists a great website on the L'Heureux family accessible through Jacques L'Heureux (The Happy Ones). However, the bulk of the Manitoba L'Heureux are not represented (the 700 descended from those shown below). I notice the GENFORUM board to date for L'Heureux is somewhat stagnant and thought I would wake it up with some Manitoba L'Heureux discussion.
Several of those people 4 generations down in this interest are aware of my research, but for those who strayed off to California (Can't handle 40 below??) I would appreciate hearing from you. I know that (Joseph François) Denis L'Heureux of LA used to come up here to Manitoba many summers from California and I have some of his actual transcribed group sheets from the 70s.
My DECOSSE, BELAIR, VADEBONCOEUR (N. Dakota), GALIPEAU, NEVEU(X) (descendants of Manitoba L'Heureux) data is a bit sparse also for those who wish to contribute through this forum or through direct e-mail. Cousins in Saskatchewan are a totally separate branch (but related up one generation) and welcome to correspond.
There is also an Excellent book on the History of St-Pierre, Manitoba "Pages de Souvenirs et D'Histoire" (french only) available through the Quebec archives on-line. (It is a 16 Meg download but worth it - free!). It is here: http://www2.biblinat.gouv.qc.ca/numtextes/aj435.htm
